Season early summer delivered some tricky conditions with hail severely damaging emerging crops in several areas throughout the Riverland. The canopy therefore required careful management to ensure the crop level was balanced, allowing for decent ripening whilst retaining natural acidity. Late summer seemed endless and very mild so the fruit was in no hurry to ripen allowing for gradual concentration of flavours.
Winemaking picked early in the morning, the grapes had a little skin contact before pressing on arrival at the winery. We took clear juice for fermentation allowing the fruit to shine through, with a short stint on lees in stainless to enhance mouthfeel before transition to bottle.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ In the glass this Vermentino is a straw colour with aromas of candied lemon, fresh lime, and honey blossom. It has a sweet and sour vibe to it... it's definitely dry with plentiful juicy flavour and an awesome texture that covers the entire mouth with flavour. It also has a lovely lengthy finish. Very enjoyable. We had it with homemade [potato and chilli] pizza and it went down perfectly together 🀀 -Casey Bryan, The Travelling Corkscrew
A one-way ticket for Summer – I’m definitely on board for the ride! A delicious, quality follow-on from the 2021 vintage with an abundant aroma hit of honeydew melon, blossom, pink grapefruit and lemon pith. A touch of skin contact before pressing gives the palate a slightly slippery feel, but it’s also refined with a saline freshness – white peach, fresh almonds, ripe limes and honeysuckle. Solid line and length with a profound concentration of flavour. Perfect for summer sipping by the pool or try it with some crumbed calamari with lemon and saffron aioli.
