As we’ve mentioned before, we often forget, in this busy life, to celebrate the small victories we achieve along the way to a bigger goal, or just in day-to-day life.
Your perspective on small victories changes over time, depending on your stage in life. Our small victories when we were at uni are very different to our small victories as business owners and parents.
The most important thing to remember is you don’t have to make all the changes today. You just need to start. And don’t compare your journey to that of other people…
Today we’re sharing some of the small victories we think are worth celebrating. If you’ve got more to add, we’d love to hear your thoughts!
SMALL VICTORIES TO CELEBRATE
✨ You gave to someone today – maybe it was a hello as you passed in the street, maybe it was help at work, maybe it was you volunteering. That something little you gave may have made someone’s day brighter.
🙌 Waking up and realising it is Saturday and you don’t have to go to work.
✨ Finding a parking space exactly where you want it.
🙌 Finding money in your coat or purse that you had forgotten about.
✨ The train arrives just as you reach platform, so you weren’t running late at all!
🙌 Getting an unexpected discount on a clothing purchase.
✨ You don’t have any unfolded washing in a basket at the moment and all the folded washing has been put away. Odd socks in the basket don’t count!
🙌 Running in to a friend while you’re out and having a great chat.
✨ Receiving a compliment from a stranger and you simply said thank you.
🙌 Everyone put their own dinner plates and cutlery into the dishwasher after leaving the dinner table.
✨ You went out last night and stuck to your budget! You had a great night and you might be feeling a little dusty today, but you’re not sad that you blew extra cash that you shouldn’t have.
🙌 You moved your body today. Maybe it wasn’t a 10km run this morning, but you got some exercise in. Or maybe it was a 10km run – good for you!
✨ You put a little extra cash in your emergency fund this week.
🙌 You told your peeps you love them.
Some small victories shared by you guys:
✨ Getting an afternoon nap.
🙌 Your wine delivery actually being left at the house as requested, rather than having to go to the post office to pick it up.
✨ Catching up with family you haven’t seen for a long while.
🙌 Getting through the first day back in the office after a holiday.
Don’t underestimate your own power in changing perspectives on life. Small victories do matter – over time they add up to be big victories – so take the time to celebrate them.
As we said at the top, we’d love to hear your small victories, so we can keep adding to the list. Email hello@smallvictorieswine.com or find us on socials @smallvictorieswineco to share your small victory celebrations.
Cheers!
