We are lucky to get to do what we love every day. So a key part of Small Victories Wine Co is giving back to the community.

We decided early on that we would like to partner with community organisations or charities, with a portion of tasting fees at Cellar Door to be donated to these organisations. And with every wine purchase you are making a difference as we also donate a portion of each bottle sold.

WHO WE SUPPORTED IN 2022/23

In 2022-23 Bec and Jules chose two charities to partner with: Variety – the Children’s Charity and Trees For Life.

Thank you to everyone who placed a token into the donation jars at cellar door or purchased a bottle of wine from us – we are so pleased to share that this financial year we have donated $2000 to each charity!

Last week Jules headed down to the office of Variety SA and met with Tanya Stratton, Chair (Chief Barker), to share our donation.

And this morning Bec, and her youngest daughter, Annabel, visited the head office of Trees For Life to give our donation to them.

Our donation will contribute to their Trees For Habitat Project in the Riverland. We source our Vermentino and some Grenache from the Riverland, so are pleased to support this project, which is working to create a vegetation corridor to provide safe passage for the Regent Parrot (Polytelis anthopeplus), linking the parrot’s feeding and nesting sites along the River Murray with an existing patch of mallee woodland.

“It is a really important project for these beautiful birds that are living under threat. Thanks again for your ongoing support for our SA home.”

VARIETY – THE CHILDREN’S CHARITY

Variety – the Children’s Charity supports kids and families who are facing many challenges through sickness, disadvantage or living with special needs. Their work allows kids to gain mobility, to get out and about in the community, to communicate, achieve independence and increase their self-esteem. Variety make sure the kids who miss out, can always join in, because all kids deserve a fair go.

A word from Variety – the Children’s Charity:

“Variety is delighted to be chosen as a charity partner of Small Victories Wine Co. Jules and Bec have instilled many of their personal values into this brand, one being recycling and we fully intend to recycle their donations into supporting more children in need across South Australia.”
Mark McGill, CEO, Variety – the Children’s Charity of South Australia

Why we chose Variety – the Children’s Charity as one of our partners:

“Being a small family business and mothers of young, happy and healthy children, we love the family feel of Variety – the children’s charity. They provide much needed support to children who are sick, disadvantaged or who have special needs. They help make a positive difference to the lives of these families when they need it the most.”

TREES FOR LIFE

Trees For Life work with communities and businesses to restore and protect precious bushland across South Australia. Loss of habitat has had a significant impact on the homes of our native wildlife; threatening their long term survival.

Our donations to Trees For Life will go towards the Trees For Habitat project – aimed at helping the local population of Malleefowl (Leipoa ocellata). This iconic Australian bird is under threat from extensive land clearance, predation by foxes and cats and a changing climate.

Every tree planted as part of the project is a small victory, adding up to a bigger change long-term for Malleefowl, as habitats are created over time!

A word from Trees For Life:

“Trees For Life is proud to be chosen as a charity partner of Small Victories Wine Co. Jules’ and Bec’s respect for the need for balance and sustainability in our landscape aligns with our mission to safeguard our biodiversity. By working side by side, we can help ensure the future of our precious native plants and animals and this special place we all call ‘home’.”
Natasha Davis, CEO, Trees For Life

Why we chose Trees For Life as one of our partners:

“Trees for life are an amazing South Australian group who help facilitate revegetation including planting on farms, bushland and even urban terrain. We are the custodians of our farm land, respecting the need for balance, making our stunning landscape sustainable for generations to come.”
